The Lodge
AccommodationAll bungalows have a magnificent view of the river and the wild forest on the opposite side which you can enjoy from your private terrace. The double rooms are jungle oriented and the closeness to nature is breathtaking at night. Now we also offer newly built cosy dormitory accommodation in our Lao style longhouse.

It is almost impossible to find a spot as green as Ban Pako, when you wake up you are surrounded by hundreds of hectares of the Lao jungle, the air is filled with the sweet scent of flowers and the monkeys chirruping in the distance. The Nam Ngum river is slowly passing by and so is the life at Ban Pako.
The restaurant has a stunning view of the river, particularly at sunset. The restaurant serves excellent Lao and European dishes at reasonable prices and special requests can be catered for with three days advanced notice. The bar serves cold beer and drinks as well as a selection of local Lao alcohols and herbal drinks. The lodge is happy to arrange celebrations, parties, workshops and seminars with three days notice.
To us ecological thinking and environmental protection is of great importance. All energy used at Ban Pako is produced by our own solar cell system, every building on our premises are built out of eucalyptus tree and bamboo from our own plantation.
Ban Pako runs its own developement program for the surrounding villages. We are helping them to raise their living standard without harming the natural forest by activities as growing vegetables, improving the small schools etc. As a guest you are a part of this by taking one of our tours since some of the money goes directly to our village fund.
In our restaurant you can among other dishes enjoy our famous red curry knowing that it is as far as possible produced by farmers living nearby. In this way we know that there are no unnecessary transports or chemical use and we also financially support the villages around us.
